Travel Programme:

Walking through the silence of the Sahara with dromedaries. Treat yourself to an extraordinary experience!

Arrival Day:

  • The journey starts and ends in Marrakech.
  • We welcome you at Marrakech airport (RAK) and bring you directly to your accommodation.
  • The first night we will stay in this fascinating, colourful red royal city.
  • The following morning after breakfast we depart in direction South to M’hamid El Ghizlane, the starting point of the desert trip.

Day 2:

  • Leaving Marrakech we drive with a private taxi/minibus over the High Atlas until Ouarzazate where we will stay overnight.
  • The route over the Atlas mountains is one of the most impressive and fascinating routes in whole Morocco. The road will take us over the 2260m (7415 ft) high Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, the highest point of the route. A breathtaking panorama will await you there.

Day 3:

  • After breakfast we move on from Ouarzazate to Agdz, Zagora until M’hamid.
  • The route to M’hamid leads us through the fertile Draâ Valley which is lined with idyllic palm groves and impressive old kasbahs (castles). The river feeds the region with water and escorts us almost all the way to M’hamid. There will be enough time to enjoy this beautiful landscape and absorb all the manifold impressions.
  • In the late afternoon we will reach M’hamid, the gate to the endless vastness of the Sahara. There in the palmeraie we will be received by the experienced nomad desert guides of the soul-travels team with their dromedaries.
  • The guides will have prepared everything to pamper you during your stay in the desert and to present another world to you. A world of stillness, tranquility and simplicity, a world of impressive sunrises and sunsets and clear night skies. The continuous changing of colours and air throughout the day, the side by side of humans and animals is what makes this incomparable place nothing less but a real paradise.

Day 4 – 10:

  • After the first night in the open air a delicious breakfast will await you in the morning sun. Thereafter the dromedaries will be loaded.
  • Your desert adventure begins. Leave your day-to-day life behind and enjoy the magic of the desert and its inhabitants.
  • Every day we will walk several hours (max. 4) with our dromedaries. We will take enough breaks to drink, eat a small bite and rest.
  • Thus we immerse deeper into the vastness of the desert every day.
  • In the early afternoon we will reach our sleeping place where a traditional cup of tea will be ready for you.
  • We will spend the nights under the unique canopy or in the tent in case of cooler temperatures.
  • The last night we will again spend in the palmeraie of M’hamid.

Day 11:

  • Rich with many new experiences we will leave the desert with private taxi/minibus after breakfast in the direction of Ouarzazate and stay there overnight.

Day 12:

  • Return journey to Marrakech for your return flight or your individual continuation of your trip.

Travel Dates:

  • Currently we organise individually arranged trips on request.
  • Recommended travel season: September – May

Package price from Marrakech to Marrakech:

  • 12 days (overnight stays) CHF 1’980.00
  • Participants: minimum 2 persons, maximum 10 – 12 people

The price includes the following services:

  • Double or shared rooms in Marrakech and Ouarzazate
  • Single room possible, price upon enquiry
  • In the desert: In the tent or under the stars
  • All meals and beverages (Moroccan tea and water) during the desert trip
  • Breakfast outside the desert
  • Pack dromedaries
  • Dromedary ride during sunset of the last evening for all tour participants

Not included in the price is:

  • Return flights
  • Individual lunches and dinners as well as beverages outside the desert
  • Personal expenses
  • Tips
  • Any kind of insurance like annulation, travel, luggage insurance, medical or accident insurance etc.
